Professor Cheng Wang

Professor Cheng (Wave) Wang received his B.S. degree from Peking University in 2009 and his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago. In 2013, he was awarded the American Chemical Society (ACS) Young Inorganic Chemist Award. Since returning to China in 2015, he has been a Professor at Xiamen University and a Minjiang Distinguished Professor. He received the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) Youth Chemistry Award in 2020 and the CCS Rising Star Award in Nano Chemistry in 2021.

Professor Wang’s research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence in chemistry (AI for Electrochemistry / AI for Catalysis), two-dimensional metal–organic layers (MOLs) materials, and 3D printing within porous materials. He has successfully pioneered a new research direction in “metal–organic monolayers”, leading significant academic progress in the field. His publications have accumulated over 10,000 citations. His research has been supported by programs such as the National Key R&D Program of China and the National  Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
