We are seeking highly motivated postgraduate students (MSc and PhD) to join our research team at the forefront of digital chemistry, catalysis, and advanced materials design. Our interdisciplinary team combines chemistry, data science, and automation to tackle pressing challenges in energy conversion, sustainability, and molecular innovation.
Our group offers opportunities in a range of cutting-edge topics, including:
Digital Chemistry – integrating computation, artificial intelligence, and robotics to accelerate chemical discovery.
AI-Driven Materials Innovation – developing new AI tools to accelerate the design and discovery of advanced materials.
Catalysis and Electrocatalysis – design and optimization of catalysts for CO₂ reduction, hydrogen/deuterium separation, and photocatalytic processes.
Cluster Chemistry – exploring the synthesis, electronic structure, and reactivity of metal and semiconductor clusters to bridge molecular and solid-state chemistry.
3D-Printed and Porous Materials – developing innovative methods for fabricating photonic and catalytic systems.
Access to state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative research environments.
Training in computational chemistry, automation, and AI-driven materials discovery.
Opportunities to publish in leading journals and present at international conferences.
A vibrant, interdisciplinary community passionate about innovation and sustainability.
Applicants should have a strong background in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, machine learning, physics, or related fields. Experience with computational modeling, programming, or machine learning is an asset but not required — enthusiasm for learning and research excellence matters most.
Interested candidates are invited to submit the following materials:
A CV highlighting academic background and research experience
A brief statement of interest outlining research goals and motivation
Academic transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable at the initial stage)
Send your application materials to wangchengxmu@xmu.edu.cn
