Bo Tian is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Xiamen University.

He received his undergraduate education in Physics from Xiamen University and completed his PhD in Physical Science and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he worked with Prof. Xixiang Zhang. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, working with Prof. Zheng Liu.

His research focuses on the controlled synthesis and wafer-scale integration of two-dimensional materials. His group investigates chemical vapor deposition of 2D materials, wafer-scale single-crystal graphene, hBN and TMDs, precise control of layer number and stacking, low-temperature transfer-free integration, emerging electronic and optoelectronic devices, 2D quantum materials, and AI-driven autonomous experimentation. A long-term objective of the group is to establish an integrated research platform spanning

atomic-scale materials growth, wafer-scale manufacturing, device integration, automated characterization, and AI-driven closed-loop optimization.

His research has been published in international journals including Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Advanced Science. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of Carbon and participates in editorial and peer-review activities for a wide range of international scientific journals.
